Over Mr. Matijs Nijland

Matijs A. Nijland as a Tax Advisor – Education and Practice

At the end of my tax law study at the University of Leiden (1992-2000), I worked for Professor van Raad on international tax related issues during the years 1999-2000.

From 2000-2006 I worked as a VAT and RETT consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. During these years I advised especially the larger middle market, but also very large listed multinational business and Government.

I followed post doctorate education, to learn more knowledge and skills with regard to taxes and the tax business in The Netherlands and the EU, with the Dutch Order of Tax Advisors and also Tax Business School at the University of Nyenrode.

From 2006-2008 I worked at BDO as a VAT and RETT manager, providing consultancy services to the middle market especially, but also Government. As of 2008 I worked at the ANWB as a VAT-manager for one year. During this year, I was an internal consultant and I also managed all their VAT and RETT related issues.

In 2008 I started VAT-Professionals and provided independent VAT-Advice to middle market and small business, especially in The Netherlands.

In 2010 I started Nijlandtax, providing independent tax services to private individuals, the small and smaller middle market.

Expertise en service

The core focus of Nijlandtax is providing income tax, corporate income tax and VAT services. My approach is to provide professional services to my clients. When other taxes are applicable for clients, I am often able to help, but regularly I work together with specialized experts. My focus is on staying within the possibilities of the law, but minimizing the tax burden for my clients as much as possible. The type of clients that I advise, are private individuals, small business and the smaller middle market in The Netherlands. For international questions, I also work together with local dedicated experts.
